Hacienda Pinilla sits on 4500 acres of the northern Costa Rican Pacific Coast, in the Province of Guanacaste, and approximately a 40-minute commuter flight from the capital of San Jose. It's a 45-minute drive to Hacienda Pinilla from Liberia International Airport. In a space the size of West Virginia, Costa Rica is home to five percent of all of the globe's plant and animal species. It has more genuses of birds and butterflies than the entire United States. Hotel amenities include the six beaches along three miles of coastline (including the Blue Flag-awarded Playa Langosta), 18-hole golf course (a 6,800-meter masterpiece of Mike Young, who has designed some of the finest golf courses in the southern United States), El Corral Turn House (course-side pro shop and restaurant area), and ranch stable (for horseback tours). There are rivers, lakes, beaches, and wildlife refuges throughout the property, as well as a variety of birds, insects, amphibians, reptiles, and mammals that can be observed on the 10 miles of natural trails on site. There are also dining areas within the individual communities of Hacienda Pinilla. Watersports such as snorkeling, sports fishing, kayaking, and surfing can be arranged.
